Island Queen Ferry
Getting to Martha’s Vineyard is half the fun when you sail aboard the Island Queen. Just 35-minutes to the Vineyard although you may wish it were longer. Enjoy our enclosed lounge, outside decks and full-service snack bar. And parking is a cinch, just 200 yards from the dock.
Nobska point is passed by a stream of ships crossing Vineyard Sound, Falmouth and borders the Elizabeth Islands to the north and south Vineyard Martha. Built-in 1828, this lighthouse protected boats cruising Vineyard Sound and Buzzards Bay.
Falmouth Heights Beach
This sandy beach offers great views of Martha’s Vineyard and gentle surf perfect for children. There are restaurants and concessions stands across the street and park benches and a grassy area overlooking the beach for picnics.
The path to The Knob in Falmouth features beaches on both sides. Though the beaches themselves aren’t long, well-marked trails through a 12-acre wooded area offer a nice hike leading out to this uniquely shaped area.
Shining Sea Bikeway
Winding along the Vineyard Sound shoreline, the Shining Sea Bikeway is a 10-mile trail extending from Falmouth to Woods Hole to North Falmouth.
